1936– Edward VIII abdicates; George VI ascends the throne.
1939-45–Cel De al Doilea Razboi Mondial/ World War II, Winston Churchill Prime Minister; Britain withstands Nazi bombings.
1949–Anglia devine membra NATO/ Britain founding member of NATO.
1973 –Britain joins European Community.
